“The design direction has been set, desktop app already launched. This should be fairly easy, right? Wrong.”

For the mobile app, the client wanted a completely different user experience.

The client’s goal for the app was to further convert users through their Video On Demand feature. Apart from this, we had to either remove or reroute a number of features.

This meant that not only did my Senior Designer and I had to compress the UI from a large screen to a smaller one, we had to rethink our entire strategy and the information architecture, including all menus.

We were able to find a way to include the full subscription journey in the app. Initially the client wanted it to remain in the desktop. We reasoned that taking the user away from the current journey may cause drop-offs.
